SUSPECTED Fulani herdsmen have again cruelly slaughtered a 50-year-old staff of the Delta State University, DELSU, Abraka, Mr. Sunday Idama, at his cassava farmland in Ovre-Abraka community, Ethiope East Local Government Area, Delta State. Mr. Idama, a father of 14 children, married to three wives had gone to his farm, last Friday, to mount surveillance after discovering that herdsmen were allegedly constantly uprooting his cassava and feeding their cows with them. NBC MOVES TO STOP IMPORTATION OF MOBILE TRANSMITTERS b5y SECESSIONIST GROUPS

The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), on Wednesday expressed determination to stop importation of mobile transmitters by non-state, secessionist groups, who are using it to broadcast anti-national propaganda. The Director-General of the Commission, Malam Is'haq Modibbo-Kawu made the disclosure while briefing newsmen at the National Headquarters of the commission in Abuja.  According to him, there is national security issue involved in the importation of mobile transmitters. "There are mobile transmitters being imported by non-state, secessionist groups, who are using these transmitters to broadcast anti-national, propaganda. "This is part of their effort to de-legitimise our country and propagate hate as well as secessionist propaganda," he said. The House of Representatives urged the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to provide relief material for flood victims in Degema Local Government Area in Rivers. This was sequel to the unanimous adoption of a motion by Rep. Randolph Brown (Rivers-PDP) at the plenary on Wednesday. Moving the motion earlier, Brown said the flood caused tremendous devastation in Bile Kingdom in the area. According to him, flooding has become a re-occurring incident in the last five years, from the February to November. He said that after each flood incident, lives, properties and livestock as well as schools, hospitals, businesses and worship centres are lost. CONFIRMED MULTIPLE BLASTS IN MAIDUGURI- POLICE

The Borno Police Command on Friday confirmed multiple blasts ignited by suspected female suicide bombers around NNPC depot on Damboa road, Maiduguri. The spokesman of the command, Mr Victor Isuku, made the confirmation in an interview in Maiduguri. "Our men are still working at the scene of the blasts," Isuku said, and pledged to give details later. An eyewitness, Malam Abubakar Kaumi, told newsmen at the scene that the blast occurred around 3 a.m. "A woman suspected to be a suicide bomber walking alongside two girls came round the depot. RELOCATE HEADQUARTER TO NIGER-DELTA

Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has directed the International Oil Companies operating in the Niger-Delta region to relocate their headquarters to their States of operation to mitigate tension in host communities.
