I’m a British citizen, ask Buhari to release me; Nnamdi Kanu tells UK

By Ikechukwu Nnochiri ABUJA—The detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, has urged the British Government to intervene in his case by asking President Muhammadu Buhari to release him from prison. Kanu who is facing treason charge alongside two other pro-Biafra agitators, Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi, approached the British government through his lawyer, Mr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor. Kanu, in a letter dated March 24 and addressed to the British High Commissioner in Abuja, described himself as a victim of travesty of justice and gross human rights violation. He insisted that the President Buhari-led administration has violently abused his fundamental human rights through his prolonged detention in prison custody. Even though Kanu said he was ready to answer to the charge against him, he however expressed doubt in the ability of the Nigerian government to accord him fair trial, saying he has so far been subjected to immense persecution. Fresh uncertainty over 2016 Budget

ABUJA—Another cloud of uncertainty is hanging over the 2016 Budget estimates approved by the National Assembly last Thursday as the Appropriation Bill may not be signed into law for full implementation any time soon. Instead, there may ensue a showdown between the Presidency and the National Assembly on the budget. Investigations by Vanguard had revealed that the law-makers may have played a fast one on the Presidency by transmitting only the highlights of the budget and kept the details in their custody. Release of the budget highlights without details makes it difficult for President Muhammadu Buhari to know what adjustments were made by the law-makers. To this end, it was learned that the President and his ministers, who investigations revealed, were eager to sign and begin implementation, are now boxed into a corner. Investigations further revealed the Budget Office, which also needs the details to work with, is handicapped at the moment. This gives an impression that it was eithe

FUEL SCARCITY: Tinubu blasts Buhari’s minister

"Kachikwu's flippancy was out-of-line. He was basically telling Nigerians that they should be lucky that they are getting the inadequate supply they now suffer…"  Apparently appalled by his seeming lack of empathy and manifest arrogance, a former governor of Lagos State and national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, yesterday, lampooned  Ibe Kachikwu, Minister of State, Petroleum, for telling Nigerians that he  "was not trained as a magician", a  reference to the lingering fuel scarcity that appears to be defying efforts of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC. Tinubu, who is not known for flippancy, wondered why a public servant would talk down on those he was meant to serve, charging: "Kachikwu's flippancy was out-of-line. He was basically telling Nigerians that they should be lucky that they are getting the inadequate supply they now suffer and that they should just be quiet and endure the shortage for several weeks more"

Back in 2013 when GTA Vcame out, we decided it was the most perfectly disturbing game you'd play all year for plenty of reasons, including the fact you could walk on water. We showed you what it would look like ifGTA Vscenes were recreated in real life, and some geniuses even used the game to recreate the Fresh Prince opening,N.W.A's "Straight Outta Compton" video, andKanye West's "Flashing Lights" video. Well you can start getting excited again: A source speaking to Tech Radar confirmed some previously unknown information about the game's past and that Grand Theft Auto 6 is on its way. Fuel scarcity takes dangerous dimension in Kwara state

The three gunmen have opened fire at motorists that were queuing for petrol on March 26, in Ilorin, Kwara state. Those who are happy and love themselves don't hang around with that kind of negative energy. Since we can't change other people, lea

Governor El-Rufai,Deputy Bantex Exchange Slap at Cabinet Meeting

Barnabas Bala Bantex had traded slaps during an argument at a cabinet meeting in the state. According to a reliable source via a telephone conversation, the Governor and the deputy have been having a cold war over the plans by the governor to sack top civil servants in the state.  The governor who is embarking on a civil service reform agenda had decided to retire these top civil servants, who still had some years left in service but the deputy was said to have been disturbed and deeply uncomfortable with the situation.  The deputy governor had confided in his close associates that the list of top  top civil servants marked for this retirement exercise reflected a majority of up to 70 per cent from the Southern Kaduna extraction.  During the cabinet meeting, the deputy governor bared his mind and told governor El-rufai he is not in support of the exercise, he said that he cannot control the backlash that will arrive as a result of that action. Arc. Bantex was quoted as saying "I c

5 Expert Ways To Be Truly, Madly, DEEPLY Happy With Yourself

What are you good at, best at and want to improve at? What are your talents and what skills have you developed? What would you like to do in your life that you haven't done yet? What is the best thing you've ever done? Are you noticing that you might ask some of these questions on a date to get to know someone and determine if you like them or not? We get to know people by asking questions although we rarely ask them of ourselves. And when someone else asks, we sometimes answer differently than when we're asking ourselves. 5. Ask Yourself Questions To find out more about yourself, ask yourself the questions you would ask on a date. The quality of your relationships is determined by the quality of the questions you ask. Ask good questions and lots of them (more than you would ask on a date; it's OK to be a chatterbox with yourself) to build that strong, healthy relationship with yourself. Take time away from other people and be happily alone. At first, it might

Kiss Daniel's Real Age Revealed – A recent interview had created controversy over the age of singerKiss Daniel, but his Wikipedia page has cleared it all up. In the interview, Kiss Daniel, whose real name is Anidugbe Oluwatobiloba Daniel, had been referred to as "the 21-year old singer." This was because Kiss Daniel graduated from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta three years ago, after studying a 5-year course. That would make him 13 years old at the time of admission, which seemed almost improbable. However, the singer's Wikipedia page now shows his correct age, 28. He was the third abandoned baby rescued under the two-year old administration of Governor Willie Obiano. Bangladeshi Islamists threaten violence if Supreme Court drops Islam as it’s main religion

Thousands of Muslims rallied in Bangladesh's capital on Friday to denounce a court petition seeking to remove Islam as the country's official state religion. About 3,000 Muslims protested outside the national mosque in Dhaka against the petition, filed by a group of prominent citizens, which is to be taken up by the High Court on Sunday. The Hifazat-e-Islam Bangladesh group called for a mass strike on Friday, warning that "Millions of Muslims will come out of mosques against the Supreme Court" and punish the judges. The Islamic fundamentalist group Hifazat-e-Islam Bangladesh has threatened retaliation and a general strike if the Supreme Court seriously considers dropping Islam as the state religion. "Bangladesh is a country where 92 per cent of the people are Muslim. If anybody removes our religion from the constitution, we shall oppose them.
