NPOWER APRIL STIPEND: BENEFICIARIES RESPONSE TO MINISTER'S PAYMENT CLAIMS

Npower Device: Notice To All Beneficiaries Concerning The Types Of ...
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development of Nigeria Sadiya Umar Farouq, on Saturday evening announced that “all N-Power beneficiaries from Batch A and B have been paid their April stipends”.

Sadiya Umar Farouq Bows to pressure-Commences payment of stipends
She made this known in a press release, She said, “last week I promised that the stipends would be paid this week.
“We encountered some delays on the GIFMIS platform but I can now announce that all N-Power beneficiaries from Batch A and B have been paid their April stipends.”
However, investigations by this online news medium prove that the declaration is false as majority of the N-Power  beneficiaries are yet to be paid their April Stipend, while some beneficiaries claimed they have not been paid since three months.
According to the Federal Government, over N15 billion is being spent as monthly stipends on 473, 137 N-Power enrolees (Batch A and B). But it is known fact that since taking over affairs of the famed scheme from the office of the Vice-President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Farouq’s reign has been characterised by N-Power beneficiaries’ stipends delays.
In March, 2020, five months after President Muhammadu Buhari created the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development and appointed her minister in charge of the ministry, Hajia Farouq said she was still studying files to understand the essence of the federal government’s N-Power programme that falls under the ministry.
Farouq – the youngest minister in the current federal cabinet – promised at that time that “once we go beyond this phase, I believe that everything will be on autopilot and subsequent payment is going to be very fast.”
But fast-forward to over 11 weeks later, beneficiaries still complain of delayed payment in this Corornavirus critical time.
9jatraffic.blogspot.com learnt that the N-Power official Twitter handler on Saturday afternoon adopted a devious strategy, asking beneficiaries to “comment here if you have received the stipends” and adding: “we are asking so we can report back about the status. So please answer honestly and keep it straight to the answer.” as seen below:

This online news medium understands that this strategy has never be used since the inception of the N-Power programme.
Meanwhile about 70% beneficiaries of the famed scheme insists they have not received April Stipend payment alert from their banks.

EMIR OF KASTINA TELLS PRESIDENT BUHARI TO SIGN PEACE CORPS BILL

The Emir of Katsina, Abdulmumini Usman, has declared support for the Peace Corps bill passed by the National Assembly. The bill, which seeks to turn the Peace Corps, a non-government organisation, into a government paramilitary agency, has elicited mixed reactions from Nigerians. Proponents see it as an avenue to create jobs for thousands of youth while critics describe as a duplication of functions already being performed by existing agencies and creation of another bureaucracy at a time the country is finding it difficult to pay workers' salaries. The bill was opposed by existing military and security institutions in Nigeria and the Peace Corps leader Dickson Akoh is currently being prosecuted for alleged fraud. Apart from lawmakers, the bill is also supported by some prominent Nigerians including the Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung, who also asked Mr. Buhari to sign to it. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Katsina emir made a similar call on the president on Thursda...
