FOOTBALL COACH NAKED HIMSELF TO MOTIVATES TEAM

A Norwegian football coach, Ronny Deila, took to desperate measures to inspire his Valerenga side in the battle against relegation, giving a crucial team talk while naked.

“A lot of people have probably seen me nude already,” Deila told the Norwegian paper VG on Friday. “We have to have fun in all the seriousness.”

Valerenga won the match against Brann 2-1 two weeks and a subsequent home victory, delivered by a fully clothed Deila, has lifted the capital club five points above the top-flight drop-zone with six games remaining.

Deila has said he will not regularly appear naked as not to reduce the “surprise effect” of the motivational manoeuvrer.

That is a decision likely welcomed by his players.

“No one was really disappointed that he has not done it again since,” captain Christian Grindheim said.

UNILORIN PRODUCES 89 FIRST CLASS GRADUATES

Prof. AbduGaniyu Ambali, the Vice-Chancellor, University of Ilorin, said on Friday that the institution had produced a total of 89 first class graduates for the 2016/2017 academic session. The Vice-Chancellor made this disclosure in Ilorin on the occasion of a handover and valedictory press conference, which signaled the commencement of the 33rd convocation ceremonies of the university. In his address entitled: “You are great”, the VC said that the university was thriving academically, going by the quality and quantity of research works embarked upon by lecturers. He gave a breakdown of the graduating students thus: 89 First Class Division, 1,932 Second Class Upper Division and 3,727 Second Class Lower Division.
