Nigerian Customs Destroys N11.5m Worth Of Frozen Products In Edo (Photos)

Word reaching your favourite amebo has it that the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), Federal Operation Unit, Zone C, says it has destroyed 1, 365 cartons of imported frozen products valued at N11.56 million in Benin city.This is contained in a statement by the Comptroller of Zone C, Mr Victor Dimka, in Benin on Sunday, 29th November, 2015.According to the statement, 1,205 cartons of the1, 365 cartons contained imported frozen poultry products, valued at N9.6 million.The remaining 160 cartons contained frozen fishestimated at about N1.9 million respectively.The statement said the items were destroyed on Saturday at the NSC office in Benin.It added that the items were seized on Thursdayby officers and men of NCS in the Benin-Ekiadolor area of Edo at about 1.00 p.m.According to the statement, the Duty Paid Value (DPV) of the poultry products and frozen fish are N1.5 million and N2.2 million, respectively.I hope we don't have a repeat of people digging up these Chickens, just like we had in Rivers state recently.

The Cross River State Police Command has expressed concern over the high rate of proliferation of arms and light weapons among young youths, with a call on parents to be vigilant about the activities of their wards both within and outside their immediate environment. UNILORIN PRODUCES 89 FIRST CLASS GRADUATES

Prof. AbduGaniyu Ambali, the Vice-Chancellor, University of Ilorin, said on Friday that the institution had produced a total of 89 first class graduates for the 2016/2017 academic session.  The Vice-Chancellor made this disclosure in Ilorin on the occasion of a handover and valedictory press conference,  which signaled the commencement of the 33rd convocation ceremonies of the university. In his address entitled: “You are great”, the VC said that the university was thriving academically, going by the quality and quantity of research works embarked upon by lecturers. He gave a breakdown of the graduating students thus: 89 First Class Division, 1,932 Second Class Upper Division and 3,727 Second Class Lower Division.
